The World's Most Marvelous MiniMe Circus

As you may have noticed, our Spring/Summer 2017 collection has been online for months, so why am I announcing it now? Well, spring (and soon summer!) is in the air (or will be any day now, I’m sure) and the days are getting longer (often difficult to tell since any given day in Paris is usually rainy this time of year…)! Anyway, regardless of the weather, I have the perfect thing to brighten up your/my/anyone’s day (literally—it’s full of fluorescents): The World’s Most Marvelous MiniMe Circus.

Acts feature gorgeous fish, daring acrobatics, and sad clowns—everything a circus needs! Not only are the daylight festivities enthralling, but there are many diversions one can only experience, or should I say see, at night. Yes—the MiniMe Circus is full of fluorescent articles which glow under black light!

Take a few innocent pieces of clothing...

Then—abracadabara—they’re glowing!

A lot of the imagery found in the collection is inspired by vintage circus acts and posters as well as ukiyo-e and colorful bold patterns and motifs found in vintage kimono.

How could such fanciful images not inspire at least something? Feels like home to me.

As for the ukiyo-e influence... I saw many interesting works of art, but when I saw this, I knew I had to try it! (just the riding a tiger part though ^^;; )

See how heroic I look—even at the circus!

I just love the stylized flowers and pretty colors! And the circus balloon—I saw a poster for an act where horses stand on planks lifted by hot air balloons. I'm not sure why that ever would have occurred to someone, but it certainly is magical!

What is your favorite part of the MiniMe Circus? I'm torn between the koi, the mermaids, and the glows-under-UV-light tiger!
